CloudTk Version 0.1.7

CloudTk is based on WebSockit2me - a TCP to WebSocket gateway that uses a noVNC to display Tk applications in modern Web Browser. It runs on Linux and requires Xvnc(TigerVNC) server and the matchbox window manager to be loaded. Tk applications are listed on a web page. TclHttpd dynamically launches an Xdisplay via Xvnc and then starts a matchbox window manager and launches the Tk application.

TclHttpd is a pure Tcl implementation of a Web server. CloudTk is packaged for easy deployment as a Starkit. Just download 2 files and you're ready to go.

Some of the features include:

• Access Control for multiple users to the WebSocket to TCP gateway via Basic Authentication using an Apache-style htpasswd file. This file can be generated by an external program or the built in Access Control Editor.
• HTTPS(SSL) support built in using the Tcl TLS (1.6.7.1) extension for Linux 64, and Raspberry Pi.
• noVNC 1.1.0 included with the ability to upgrade to a later version.

Uses:

• Display Tk applications unmodified in a modern web browser.

  (web browsers must be capable of supporting WebSockets see Browser Support )

Quick Start Guide

• Download the Tclkit suitable for your platform from Tclkit Downloads page. Either Linux x86_64 or arm version 8.6.
• Download the CloudTk Starkit from CloudTk.kit (IE Browsers right click on the link and select "Save target as...")
• Create a directory for example

  /usr/local/cloudtk

  and place the Tclkit and CloudTk.kit files in that directory.

• On Linux

  chmod +x tclkit-8.6.3 (rename the downloaded tclkit file to something shorter if desired eg tclkit)

  ./tclkit-8.6.3 CloudTk.kit

Point your browser to http://<<Your IP Address>>:8015/

Important

• Dependencies TigerVNC and the Matchbox window manager (on Debian 9 apt-get install vnc4server matchbox-window-manager).
• The default password for webmaster is webmaster. Please change this ASAP via the Access Control Editor and enable authentication for the website (see FAQ)
